3 Peaks Sponsored Walk

On August 29th 2010,Rose, Naiomi and Hannah completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on behalf of AFET. It was a very tough day due to the weather - gale force winds on all the tops coupled with horizontal rain for the first 3 hours! They even walked a mile further than when Rose did the walk last year to avoid sinking in the bogs.

Hannah was a star - not many 9 year olds have completed this walk and she even ran to meet her Dad at the end and jogged back to the car! It took the group 12hrs 15 mins in the end but Hannah would have completed in under 12 hours if she hadn't had to wait for her Mum!

They have already raised more than £700 but sponsor money is still rolling in.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk is a very demanding but rewarding walk, which takes in the summits of Pen-y-ghent (694 metres - 2,276 feet), Whernside (736 metres - 2,415 feet) and Ingleborough (723 metres  2,372 feet) all in one circular route. The walk is 25 miles in length with over 5000ft of climb and by completing it in under 12 hours you can join the '3 Peaks Club'.
